August Book Club: Three Days Missing

Hi everyone and welcome back to a bonus blog for August’s book club with Indigo featuring Three Days Missing! Glad to be home for a few weeks from a month of mostly travel overseas. I have been loving reading this month’s books on the road, at the beach and on all the flights making them go by so much faster! This month’s bonus novel, Three Days Missing, is a harrowing tale written by Kimberly Belle. Three Days Missing intertwines the tale of two very different women, Kat and Stef. On the outside, Stef appears to have everything. She has a perfect relationship and a perfect family; however, we soon discover that appearances can mean nothing.

On the other hand, Kat is still reeling as she comes to terms with her failed marriage. Kat is also blessed with an inquisitive and bright son who attends school with Stef’s child. One evening, Kat is woken up by a police officer on her doorstep. This police officer informs her that her beloved son Ethan has disappeared from his cabin on the school trip he was attending.

Ethan’s disappearance causes a disturbance in Kat’s world, as well as Stef’s. Throughout Three Days Missing, these two women find out just how tangled their two lives actually are. As information about Ethan’s disappearance is unveiled, tales of bullying, deceit and imperfection come to light. I was utterly captivated throughout this entire novel, thank you Indigo!

One thing that I greatly admired about Kimberly Belle’s writing is her strong depiction of female characters. The unlikely alliance that grew between Stef and Kat was enthralling.
