So, I don’t think I have to remind anyone of what’s happening this Sunday… yes, I’m talking about the Super Bowl. Since we can’t really invite all of our friends over and throw a party, or even crack open a beer in my case, we’re going to set you up with tips on how to set up your space, fun games and activities you can play, appies that are easy to make or recommendations to order in to make your day a touchdown.

If you don’t feel like cooking

Here are some great local delivery and catering companies that will make your Super Bowl a little bit easier so you can kick back with your bubble and enjoy!

White Table Catering

For the fancy Super Bowl – White Table Catering has a number of menu options; plated, buffet, family style and even stations. They’re great for a sit down dinner, but they also have delicious snack options. Their hot wings are to-die-for! Check out their Super Bowl menu we put together from past years that include game day staples.

“Gridiron” Nachos

Kettle chips topped with pickled jalapenos, pickled red onion, shredded parmesan, cheese curds, garlic, cilantro lime aioli, fresh cilantro to garnish

Tip: Make things easy! Bake and serve in a cast iron skillet. Not only does it make your clean up easy, it gives a homey, rustic feel to your presentation.

Sweet and Salty Popcorn Cups

Tip: add fresh sea salt, caramel, chopped walnuts and melted chocolate to fresh popped popcorn to create an easy dessert guests can take straight to your seats to enjoy during the game.

Smoke and Bones

If you’re envisioning a beer and bbq style Super Bowl then you need to call Smoke and Bones. They’re famous for their pork back ribs but everything on the menu is equally as delicious. Their BBQ baked pit beans are my favourite.

White Linen

Another great option is White Linen, which has a diverse assortment of canapes. They have mini pork belly sliders, tempura prawns, ahi tuna – the whole lot.

For the hosts that are ready to get cookin’

First and most importantly, you need hot wings! Thankfully our friends at White Table have sent over their top-secret recipe.

Wings and Coating

2 pounds free range chicken wings (tips removed)

½ cup corn starch

½ tablespoon salt

½ tablespoon paprika

½ teaspoon black pepper

½ teaspoon garlic powder

Hot Sauce

1½ cups Franks hot sauce

1 tablespoon white vinegar

¼ cup butter

salt and pepper

Roquefort Yoghurt Dip

1 cup plain yogurt

¼ cup mayonnaise

2 cloves minced garlic

1 tablespoon lemon juice

½ cup chopped Roquefort Cheese

salt and pepper

Pre-heat oven to 400 degrees F.

In a bowl mix dry ingredients. Add wings and toss to coat. Spread wings onto a baking sheet lined with non-stick parchment paper. Bake for 40-50 minutes or until crispy, flipping over halfway through. In a bowl heat Franks and vinegar. Turn off heat and whisk in butter slowly. Add to wings and toss to coat. Serve with Roquefort yogurt dip.

Setting the Stage – Game Day Decor

  • Transform your space with a few touches, depending on how much time you have:

Games & Activities

  • Game Day Bets – While some may be taking bets on the game, sometimes it is things like the half time show that draw the most attention. Make a fun betting pool amongst your group chat that everyone can be a part of with topics like: best performance, most embarrassing moment, worst performance, will there be a scandal, etc. Then everyone has a stake in the game!
  • Football Themed Cornhole – Take the game to the next level by adding targets outside of the course, really testing your accuracy to see if you can throw like Bradey! I just found this one on hayneedle.com and if you order right now you’ll get it in time for Sunday!!

Good luck and Happy Super Bowl Sunday!!!
