Microblading Miracles

My blond hair has definitely been a blessing and a curse throughout my life.  When it comes to my eyebrows, it’s a curse. I would be constantly filling them in because with no filler you could barely see that I had any hair there. Your eyebrows are such a beautiful frame for your eyes and your face, I felt bare without them filled, and although I liked the shape of my natural brow, the hairs just weren’t dark enough. Thankfully, I came across a brilliant thing called Microblading.

Microblading is a form of tattooing where the artist draws hair like strokes under your eyebrow hair to mimic a fuller and darker brow. You can also get your eyebrows shaded which uses a machine to create more of a powdered look throughout.

My experience went so extremely well and I recommend it to ANYONE!  The studio I went to is called Project Skin on west 11th Ave. I went for three sessions in total, which should normally be done within 2 months. I took a little longer, Six months after my first appointment I went back and got more blading done, fortunately for me I still had some pigment retention from my first appointment. This was a bonus because it meant I didn’t have to go in for another blading appointment I could move on to shading. My last appointment was a couple days ago and WOW, waking up with prefect eyebrows really is the dream.

Not going to lie, it did hurt, but not the whole time. It’s exactly what you would expect it to feel like, just ask for a little bit more numbing cream and you will make it through. It also helped that all the staff at Project Skin are so helpful and kind, making you feel comfortable the second you walk through the door.

Lucky for me, celebrities such as Cara Delevingne, are really pushing this trend and it’s looking like it’s here to stay. This works in my favor because I will have these brows for at least 3 years now. Honestly, this is worth the money and if you’re thinking about getting it done in Vancouver go check out Project Skin, Christine Palylyk (my artist) seriously nailed it!

Now let me show you my transformation.

These above images are from my first session, this shows my penciled brows from when I came in, and images of the microblading right after she finished (excuse the redness). I can’t believe how much more natural they look!!

These images are from my second visit, once the majority of the pigment settled, I got a touch up to darken up some of the spots, and add a little more texture.

Last (but not least) I dove in for the brow shading. I know things are pretty red, as I just finished the session, but I LOVE the job Christine did here. The shading looks like natural thickness in the hairs, and gives a more dramatic effect.

So, what do you think? Turns out waking up every morning with perfect brows is possible! Go take “doing your brows” off your early morning makeup routine!

With Christmas coming, Christine and I want to treat you guys! Pop in to Project Skin MD and say Natalie sent you to receive 15% off your microblading!
