Making sure your pregnant body is getting the vitamins and minerals it needs

Finding out I was pregnant really forced me to look at what I put into my body. As a health and fitness enthusiast I have always been conscious of consuming foods that serve my energy, mentality and body but I wasn’t considering if the combination of foods I was eating were supplying me with  the vitamins and minerals I needed to be my best self. With periods of vegetarianism and a number of foods (primarily dairy) restrictions I realized that there were nutrients that my body probably wasn’t getting enough of. 

Knowing that I was growing a little guy inside me, I was adamant about ensuring that my body was in the right state to make him grow big and strong. I didn’t want to take any unnecessary supplements, but instead wanted vitamins that supported me in my wellness journey and supported me in being as healthy as I could be for my baby. I was also prepared to be one.tired.mama. – so it was imperative for me to ensure that my body was getting nutrients such as B vitamins and magnesium to support my energy. 

After extensive (seriously, any other moms as crazy as I am?) research, I found Centrum Prenatal. When I read “#1 Doctor and Pharmacist recommended multivitamin brand” on Amazon and did my research, I decided it was probably good enough for me and my growing baby. I chose to take a vitamin with DHA to support cognitive health and brain function.
